Chilli Pepper
Capsicum annuum
🥕 VegetablesChilli peppers (Capsicum annuum) have a long growing season, so in Central Europe they are almost always started indoors as early as February or March, on a windowsill or in a greenhouse. They go outside into a bed or pot only after the last frosts, usually in May, in a sunny, warm spot sheltered from the wind. The plant likes regular but moderate watering and fertile soil — waterlogging damages the roots. The heat of the fruit increases with ripening time and sun intensity; fully ripe (usually red) peppers are the hottest. Harvest gradually from summer until the first frosts.
